Ray Ward is running for the San Juan Unified School District Board because he believes it’s critical to find innovative solutions that will increase the education experience for our beneficiaries, the students. His belief is that his unique set of skills that focus on results attained by working collectively with various groups will provide those solutions.

CA Licensed Insurance Agent - Current
Works with small to medium-sized businesses to develop comprehensive and cost-effective benefits packages so that they can hire and retain the best employees. This goal is accomplished by reviewing with the employer all their options every year so that they can pick a plan that works for their employees, then spending the time with their employees so that they select the best options for themselves and their families. Also, work with individuals to navigate CoveredCA and other individual plans.
Previous Sales/Marketing/Management Background
Since Ray Ward graduated from High School, he has successfully worked in the sales & marketing environments both with small businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies selling data services, electronics, adult education, and fitness equipment. During this time, in addition to developing his sales skills, he became part of the management team helping them recruit, guide, and achieve the goals of the organization.
Volunteer Resume:
Rotary International / District / Various Clubs - Current
During his Rotary Membership, in addition to performing community service and fundraisers, he has served at many different levels. At the club level, he has served as a Club President, helped form a Club Foundation, and also served as its President, in addition to serving on the club board on many different committees.
At the District level (servicing 37 clubs), he has served as District Governor developing, with a team, training programs and special events that inspire the clubs to achieve their goals. In addition, he has been on and chaired many different committees including the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening), a leadership camp for students after their Junior year of high school, and the RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) program. He have been a featured speaker on such topics as membership, marketing, and diversity.
At the next level up, the Zone, he has also been asked to speak on several issues, organize events, and helped with presentations.
Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce – Current
Currently, Ray Ward serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Chamber. At this time our current objective is the is working together to keep the Chamber relevant after the hardship of the pandemic. The Executive Director, Board, and committees are working to bring back previous programs and develop new ones that will enhance the way we help community members.
Vitalant (formally Blood Source) – Current
Ray Ward has been serving on the Community Leadership Council for Vitalant where we discuss how to ensure the needed blood supply for the community. During the pandemic, this has been very important since the donors had been nervous, and the conventional way of collecting from donors had to be modified or put on hold. One area that was especially impacted was the number of high schools student donors who were greatly reduced since they were not in school; even with their return, the donations have not picked up to previous levels.
